Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance? ***

At this time, I do not acceptance insurance. However, at your request I will provide you with a statement that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please be aware that submitting a super bill for reimbursement carries a certain amount of risk, as we cannot control how your information is used once submitted.

Not all therapeutic services are reimbursable; it is your responsibility to verify the specifics of your coverage.

Insurance reimbursement is typically based on "medical necessity", often requiring a psychiatric diagnosis. Because This Is For You Counseling specializes in relationship based psychotherapy, I often do not assign psychiatric diagnosis in my treatment. Contact your insurance provider to determine if they will reimburse you directly for the out-of-network services you are seeking.

I’m having relationship issues, but my partner doesn’t want to attend therapy with me, can I still be seen?

Yes, therapy can be beneficial to the individual who is having relationship problems. While you are not able to do couples therapy, individual therapy can help you understand the relationship problems better and develop the ability to relate to your loved ones in a healthier, more effective way.

How do I book a session?

The process is to schedule a free 30 minute consultation call using the form on the homepage. The consultation call briefly explores your therapy needs, answers any preliminary questions, and will determine if This Is For You Counseling is good fit. If you are interested in moving forward, a session is booked based on availability at the time of the call.

Are there any issues you do not treat?

Of course, there are specific issues that I do not treat and during our consultation call, I will gain a better understanding to confirm if we are a good fit to working with one another, or if it’s best that I refer you to someone else that will fit your needs.

How long will therapy take?

As a potential client, your needs are unique to you. The length of therapy is dependent on these circumstances. I will assess your presenting concerns alongside the desire outcome and share realistic expectations with you once we establish a working plan from our time together.

I just booked my first session! What happens now?

You will receive an email with a link to the online Client Portal to complete your initial paperwork. Please complete the electronic forms prior to your first appointment at least 24 hours.

The first four sessions are imperative and intentional to my better understanding your needs and assessing for treatment goals.

In the intake session, we will discuss paperwork, confidentiality, limits to confidentiality, practice policies and procedures prior to session. We will also get to know each other on a therapeutic level as well as discuss your presenting issue. At the end of the session, if you wish to continue, you will be rescheduled to return so we can begin our work together.

The following sessions includes an assessment that explores more about you, a session to address the feedback about the findings from the assessment, and a fourth and final session to identify treatment goals before continuing

Expect for this first intake session to last about 65 minutes and the following to last 50 minutes.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please give a minimum 24 hours notice so that the appointment time may be given to another client. If notice is given less that 24 hours you will be charged the full session fee. In addition, a client who arrives 20 minutes late to the session will need to reschedule and will be charged.

If you should arrive late but before the 20 minute cap for a scheduled session, you will be seen for the remaining portion of your reserved time.

What qualifies as a cancellation?

In order to avoid the late cancellation or no show fee, a text, email, or call indicating your need to cancel or reschedule prior to 24 hours of the scheduled session qualifies as a cancellation. It is important that I confirm the cancellation. Otherwise, if I have not confirmed the cancellation, it may not have reached me and you will be charged for that appointment. For example: replying to an automated appointment reminder that is sent through my client portal will not reply to me directly:

To cancel please email me at jasmine@thisisforyoucounseling.com or call/text (469)-530-4748
